Happy Dussehra to all of you!!! A lot has been happening over the past month. We are proud to announce that within 1.5 years, with all the dedication and hard work, we have finally been able to convert Kolkata Football Club from a team to a football brand in the semi-professional circuit. Starting with just a men's football team on April 14, 2015 as a part time refreshment, things slowly got serious and we became the first semi professional team to appoint an AFC Licensed Coach and Technical Director. We formed our Junior Team, Kolkata FC U20s in June 2016 and following the benchmarks set upon us by ourselves, we finally launched Kolkata Women's Football Club, on October 9, 2016. We finally have our personal training and match ground, as we have relocated from the seasonal Kolkata Maidans and the common Jadavpur University Ground to WBUAFS Campus Ground, Belgachia. The ground will be used for matches by both the men's and women's teams, while it will be a practice ground for the men's team only as of now. The women's team will be practicing in Calcutta Rangers Club Ground for the time being. The women's team has 14 players, as of now, all of them scouted from the Inter School Tournament for Girls organised by LMG in July 2016 and Nadir Cup organised by Debanjan Sen Foundation in October 2016. An open trials will be organised on November 5 and 6, 2016 to select the other 11 players for the women's team. Meanwhile, our Technical Director, Mr. Yan Cheng Law now has FA Level 2 Coaching License to his name, which is an International Intermediate Coaching License by the Football Association (England). We congratulate him for this amazing achievement.
